About EIT Health
The International Master in Innovative Medicine has been labelled by EIT Health.
EIT Health is a network of best-in-class health innovators backed by the European Union. We collaborate across borders to deliver new solutions that enable European citizens to live longer, healthier lives.
As Europeans tackle the challenges of increasing chronic diseases and multi-morbidity, they seek to realise technology's potential to move beyond conventional approaches to treatment, prevention and healthy lifestyles. To succeed, Europe needs thought leaders, innovators and efficient ways to bring innovative healthcare solutions to market.
EIT Health addresses these needs. We connect all relevant healthcare players across European borders – making sure to include all sides of the “knowledge triangle”, so that innovation can happen at the intersection of research, education and business for the benefit of citizens.
We give health innovators access to the market, funding and the expertise of our network. We facilitate innovation through programmes, workshops and initiatives. We collaborate on international projects and disseminate our findings to the public. We create new products and services for healthy lives in Europe. And we educate, through citizen engagement activities, innovation programmes and skills training.
An EIT Knowledge and Innovation Community
EIT Health is a Knowledge and Innovation Community (KIC) established by the European Institute for Innovation & Technology (EIT), an independent EU body set up in 2008 to promote innovation and entrepreneurship across Europe.
EIT Health Goals
EIT Health stands for the following goals:
Strengthening healthcare systems in Europe
We want to contribute to a stronger health ecosystem in Europe. We are working to overcome fragmentation, to address broad challenges, to increase efficiency, and to break down barriers. By bringing together research, education, and business, we aim to help healthcare grow and evolve.
Promoting better health of citizens
European citizens and patients are at the centre of what we do. Our innovative healthcare solutions aim to transform health outcomes. Through our products, dissemination of findings, and educational activities, we seek to promote healthy living and active ageing.
Contributing to a sustainable health economy in Europe
We want to create a fertile environment for growth and innovation, because health innovation and entrepreneurship ultimately benefit the health economy and citizens. By bringing innovative ideas to market, we also help create new jobs.
What does the EIT Health label mean for students?
* Students receive an EIT Health certificate with the graduation from IMIM
* Students can receive a scholarship from EIT Health
There are 6 EIT Health Scholarships available for the cohort starting September 2019, which consist of €500 contribution to living expenses and €100 contribution for travel. This adds up to €600 in total per month. Since EIT Health works with calender years (instead of Academic Years) we can only commit to the years 2019 (4 months) and 2020 (12 months) at this point. Hopefully we can also secure funding for January - August 2021, but we don't know that at this point.
*Students can be part of the EIT Health network, including the EIT Health Alumni Network, which can both help you in your future.
