IMIM Celebrates 10 Years of Educating Future Innovators in Medicine

This year, the International Master in Innovative Medicine (IMIM) celebrated its 10th anniversary, marking a decade of international collaboration, interdisciplinary education and innovation in healthcare.

The milestone was celebrated in Groningen during a special week that brought together first-year students, second-year students, alumni, staff and partner universities from around the world. The programme's annual Kick-off for new students took place alongside the IPIM Summer School, where second-year students further developed their entrepreneurial skills and explored how innovative ideas can be translated into real-world healthcare solutions.

Over the past ten years, IMIM has grown into a truly international master's programme, preparing students to address complex healthcare challenges through a unique combination of medicine, research, innovation and entrepreneurship. The programme's success is built on close collaboration between leading universities in the Netherlands, Germany, Sweden and Estonia, as well as partner institutions in Brazil, Chile, Colombia and Japan.

The anniversary celebrations offered an opportunity to reflect on the achievements of the IMIM community and the many connections formed through the programme. Bringing together current students, alumni and staff highlighted one of IMIM's greatest strengths: a vibrant international network that continues to support students long after graduation.

As IMIM enters its second decade, the programme remains committed to educating the next generation of healthcare innovators and strengthening international collaboration in medicine and health.
